Why Bermuda
Bermuda is one of the few island destinations you can cruise to from the Northeast without flying. Most sailings spend about two days at sea each way and then two or three days docked in Bermuda, so you can explore at your own pace and come back to the ship each evening.
Highlights include pink-sand beaches such as Horseshoe Bay, the island's capital Hamilton, and the historic town of St. George's, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Getting around the island
Visitors can't rent regular cars in Bermuda. Instead, you'll use the ferries and buses, which connect the Dockyard with Hamilton and St. George's, or taxis. Small rental electric vehicles and scooters are also available.
When to go
Most Bermuda cruises sail from late spring to early fall, when the weather is warm enough for the beach. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, peaking from August to October, and storms can change sailing plans.
Remember that the sea days to and from Bermuda can be cooler and breezier than the island itself, especially early and late in the season.
