BookMyDreamCruise

Editorial policy

Our goal is simple: the most useful, honest answer to the question you came with, whether that's where your ship docks in Cozumel, whether Alaska is worth it in May or which cruise line suits your family.

How our guides are made

The BookMyDreamCruise editorial team researches each guide from public sources, cruise line information and established travel references, and drafts it with the help of AI writing tools. Every page then goes through structured checks: a fixed outline so each page answers the questions travelers actually ask, automated checks that reject invented prices and filler, and a review against our sources. We're adding reviews by working cruise specialists as our network grows. When a specialist has checked a page, its byline names them and the month they reviewed it.

Where our data comes from

  • Ship specifications (tonnage, length, capacity, year in service, builder) come from Wikidata, with hand checks for new ships.
  • Monthly weather for every port comes from NASA POWER data: ten years (2015–2024) of daily readings averaged into typical daily highs, lows and monthly rainfall. Because its grid cells are about 30 miles wide, we adjust temperatures to sea level using the standard lapse rate, so a port next to mountains isn't shown as cold as the peaks. Daylight hours are calculated from each port's latitude.
  • Coordinates and photos come from Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. Every photo is credited to its author with its license.

What we never publish

  • Prices or fares in our guides. They change daily; a specialist's quote is the only reliable price.
  • Paid placements. No cruise line pays to appear in our guides or comparisons.
  • Fake reviews, invented statistics or made-up personal experiences.
  • Claims we can't stand behind. When something changes often, like port calls, entry rules or onboard policies, we say so and point you to the cruise line or official source.

Keeping guides current

Every page shows the date it was last updated. We review guides when cruise lines change fleets or policies and when readers tell us something has changed.
