About Norwegian Epic
Norwegian Epic, from 2010, is a one-of-a-kind ship that introduced studio cabins for solo travelers, complete with a private lounge just for them. It has a bold, nightlife-heavy personality, with plenty of bars, a big casino and the Epic Plunge, a tube slide that drops riders into a giant bowl. Cabins have an unusual design, with curved walls and the shower and toilet in separate compartments; some guests love it, others find it awkward for sharing. Epic has spent many summers in the Mediterranean from Barcelona and Rome, and it often sails the Caribbean in winter.
Best for: Solo travelers and nightlife lovers, especially on Mediterranean itineraries.

Sailing with Norwegian
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) built its identity on Freestyle Cruising: no fixed dinner times, no formal nights and a long list of restaurants you choose from each evening. Its big, modern ships add go-kart tracks, Broadway-style shows and The Haven, a private suite enclave. It suits independent-minded couples, groups and families who like flexibility, less so budget purists who dislike add-on charges.
