About Koningsdam
Koningsdam launched the Pinnacle class in 2016 and marked a turning point for Holland America Line, giving a brand known for traditional cruising a fresher, music-led identity. Her interiors use sweeping curves, layered lighting and instrument-inspired details, and she introduced ideas that later spread across the fleet, including the World Stage and the reworked Lido Market. She is larger than the Vista and R-class ships yet rarely feels crowded, thanks to generous public rooms and a good spread of bars. Koningsdam has spent many seasons on the West Coast, a convenient pick for Alaska, Mexico and Hawaii.
Best for: First-time Holland America cruisers and families who want the line’s modern Pinnacle-class design, ideally on a West Coast departure.

Sailing with Holland America
Holland America Line is a classic premium cruise line with mid-size ships, live music, traditional service and especially strong Alaska, Panama Canal and long-voyage programs. The atmosphere is calm and mature, with good food and plenty of room to relax. It suits couples and retirees who value comfort and destinations over thrills, and it’s a less natural fit for young families or nightlife seekers.
