About Westerdam
Westerdam is the third of the Vista-class ships, delivered in 2004 and still one of Holland America’s most versatile mid-sized vessels. She offers the class’s practical strengths, including lots of balcony cabins, a classic promenade, a two-level dining room aft and an observation lounge high up at the bow. Updates over the years have brought the newer Lido Market and refreshed bars, though her overall feel remains traditional and relaxed. Westerdam has a track record of seasons in Alaska from Seattle and of long Asian voyages, so she often turns up on itineraries that larger ships can’t easily serve.
Best for: Travelers who want a comfortable, mid-sized ship for Alaska or a longer, destination-heavy voyage at a gentle pace.
