About Nieuw Amsterdam
Nieuw Amsterdam is the second and final Signature-class ship, and her interiors take their cue from New York, which the Dutch once called Nieuw Amsterdam. Expect Manhattan-inspired art, polished woods and a traditional layout that regulars find easy to learn in a day. She sits in the sweet spot of the fleet: newer and more varied than the Vista ships, yet smaller and more classic than the Pinnacle class. Live music venues and the pan-Asian Tamarind give her plenty to do in the evenings. She has been a long-running fixture on Alaska itineraries from Seattle, where her size suits glacier days well.
Best for: Alaska cruisers and traditionalists who like a mid-sized ship with a good choice of restaurants and a classic, gracious atmosphere.
