About Viking Orion
Viking Orion arrived in 2018 as the fourth Viking ocean ship, and she added a feature that sets her apart from the earliest sisters: a planetarium, used for astronomy presentations and lectures. Otherwise she offers the familiar Viking formula of all-veranda staterooms, refined Nordic interiors and a strong program of enrichment. Her godmother is astronaut Anna Fisher, a nod to the ship’s interest in science and exploration. Viking Orion has ranged widely, with Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Alaska among the regions she has served, which makes her a good choice for travelers chasing long-haul destinations.
Best for: Curious travelers, especially science and astronomy fans, who want a refined ship for long-haul regions like Australia, Asia or Alaska.
