About AIDAsol
AIDAsol entered service in 2011 as the fifth Sphinx-class ship, sharing the larger second-generation hull with AIDAblu, AIDAmar and AIDAstella. She is a comfortable, mid-sized ship that many AIDA regulars appreciate for being easier to navigate than the line’s newer giants while still offering plenty of choice. Daytime life centers on the pool deck and spa, and in the evenings the Theatrium hosts shows and live bands for an audience spread across three decks. She has an onboard brewery and a fine-dining restaurant, Rossini. All entertainment and announcements are in German, so she best suits guests who speak it.
Best for: German-speaking travelers who want a mid-sized, easygoing ship with plenty of dining choice.

Sailing with AIDA
AIDA Cruises is Germany’s largest cruise line and a German-language product from top to bottom: announcements, entertainment, menus and service are designed for guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It runs casual, buffet-centered “club ships,” recognizable by the red lips painted on every bow. North Americans who don’t speak German will feel like outsiders, so this line suits German speakers and adventurous travelers who want an immersive European experience.
