About Enchantment of the Seas

Enchantment of the Seas began life in 1997 as a Vision-class ship and became a one-of-a-kind in 2005, when Royal Caribbean cut it in half and inserted a new midsection about 73 feet long. The stretch added cabins, restaurants and an expanded pool deck, so it is slightly larger than its sisters while keeping the class’s glass-walled Centrum and Viking Crown Lounge. Enchantment has long been used for short Bahamas and Caribbean trips, where its smaller size and simple layout make it easy for first-timers to find their way around.

Best for: First-time and budget cruisers who want a short, easygoing trip on a smaller Royal Caribbean ship.

Sailing with Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is the big-ship, high-activity line: surf simulators, water slides, ice rinks and Broadway shows on some of the largest cruise ships ever built. It suits families, groups and active couples who want a floating resort and a private-island beach day, and it’s less suited to anyone who wants quiet, small ships or an all-inclusive fare.
