About Quantum of the Seas

Quantum of the Seas launched its namesake class in 2014 with a run of firsts for Royal Caribbean: RipCord by iFLY skydiving, the North Star observation capsule and the Bionic Bar with robotic bartenders. Instead of the Oasis class’s open-air neighborhoods, Quantum puts its fun indoors. SeaPlex holds bumper cars, roller skating and a basketball court, and Two70 at the stern pairs huge windows with Roboscreens for evening shows. Inside cabins get virtual balconies, screens that show a live view outside. Much of its career has been in Asia and Australia, and the indoor focus makes it a good fit for cooler-weather routes.

Best for: Cruisers who like indoor activities and tech-forward features, especially on Asia-Pacific and cooler-climate itineraries.

Sailing with Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is the big-ship, high-activity line: surf simulators, water slides, ice rinks and Broadway shows on some of the largest cruise ships ever built. It suits families, groups and active couples who want a floating resort and a private-island beach day, and it’s less suited to anyone who wants quiet, small ships or an all-inclusive fare.
