About Grandeur of the Seas

Grandeur of the Seas, from 1996, is the oldest ship in Royal Caribbean’s fleet and one of its smallest. It spent years based in Baltimore, giving Mid-Atlantic cruisers a drive-to option for Bermuda and the Caribbean. The Vision-class design features a glass-walled Centrum atrium and the Viking Crown Lounge high on the top deck, and later refits added specialty dining. You won’t find waterslides, ice rinks or big thrill rides here. What you get is a simpler, more traditional cruise at a slower pace, often on itineraries that put the focus on ports.

Best for: Budget-minded and traditional cruisers who prefer a smaller, quieter ship and port-focused itineraries.

Sailing with Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is the big-ship, high-activity line: surf simulators, water slides, ice rinks and Broadway shows on some of the largest cruise ships ever built. It suits families, groups and active couples who want a floating resort and a private-island beach day, and it’s less suited to anyone who wants quiet, small ships or an all-inclusive fare.
