About Jewel of the Seas
Jewel of the Seas, from 2004, was the last Radiance-class ship built and keeps the class’s airy, glass-wrapped feel. It has often been used for Europe and longer Caribbean itineraries, where its mid-size layout makes boarding, tendering and moving around easy. Expect a calmer atmosphere than on the big Royal Caribbean ships, with the Solarium pool for adults, a rock-climbing wall and a compact but varied choice of restaurants. Families will find Adventure Ocean, though teens looking for nonstop thrills may prefer a Freedom- or Oasis-class ship.
Best for: Couples and mature travelers who want a relaxed mid-size ship on port-intensive itineraries.

Sailing with Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean is the big-ship, high-activity line: surf simulators, water slides, ice rinks and Broadway shows on some of the largest cruise ships ever built. It suits families, groups and active couples who want a floating resort and a private-island beach day, and it’s less suited to anyone who wants quiet, small ships or an all-inclusive fare.
