About Navigator of the Seas

Navigator of the Seas, a 2002 Voyager-class ship, got one of Royal Caribbean’s most ambitious makeovers in 2019. That Royal Amplified refit added the Blaster, an aqua coaster that was the longest water coaster at sea when it opened, and Riptide, a headfirst mat-racer slide, plus the Lime & Coconut pool bar. Since 2021 it has been based in Los Angeles, offering short getaways to Ensenada and Catalina, which makes it a favorite with Southern California cruisers. Expect a lively, party-friendly crowd on weekend sailings.

Best for: West Coast cruisers looking for a quick, lively getaway from Los Angeles with waterslides and a party atmosphere.

Sailing with Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is the big-ship, high-activity line: surf simulators, water slides, ice rinks and Broadway shows on some of the largest cruise ships ever built. It suits families, groups and active couples who want a floating resort and a private-island beach day, and it’s less suited to anyone who wants quiet, small ships or an all-inclusive fare.
