About Symphony of the Seas

Symphony of the Seas joined Royal Caribbean in 2018 as the fourth Oasis-class ship and held the title of world’s largest cruise ship until Wonder arrived. It introduced several venues that later spread through the fleet, including Hooked Seafood and the Ultimate Family Suite, a two-level suite with an in-suite slide, LEGO wall and private cinema. The Boardwalk has the Sugar Beach candy shop and a hand-carved carousel, and Splashaway Bay keeps younger kids busy on the pool deck. Symphony has mostly sailed Caribbean itineraries from Florida, where its huge range of activities suits families on a week off school.

Best for: Families who want a big-ship Caribbean week and are tempted to splurge on a standout family suite.

Sailing with Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is the big-ship, high-activity line: surf simulators, water slides, ice rinks and Broadway shows on some of the largest cruise ships ever built. It suits families, groups and active couples who want a floating resort and a private-island beach day, and it’s less suited to anyone who wants quiet, small ships or an all-inclusive fare.
